MY 5 POINT ACTIVITY: Fighting for Indigenous Rights through Activism and Academia

G.I.G. is student-led organization of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples alike who seek to celebrate and share global Indigenous heritages, sovereign ties, memories, and knowledge. I have been a member of this group my entire time at FIU. I have served at different capacities from designing the club logos, to hosting lectures, to eventually serving as Vice President of the club (5 point activity).   My club members and I work to raise awareness around various issues that Indigenous peoples face around the world and we advocate for the social and communal development of Indigenous communities.
